as an ex-jw do you tell people about your jw past?
how much detail do you go into when you tell non-jw's about the organization.
i usually only ever say anything if somebody asks about my religious affiliation or mentions jw's.
I would be honest and open if asked a direct question. I dont go around condeming them constantly because they dont deserve the space in my brain.
*Holding a grudge is like letting someone live rent free in your head* a good quote. Hard to enforce as at times Im so angry about the borg and what they get away with.
Im tired, goodnight all, its 12.20am here.
i called my sister today and they said "we were shunned today.
" normally this is a bit of a non event after all how many faders get shunned on a regular basis.
i asked who it was and they said "big sis" now this is a shock.
So sorry Nugget For you and your sister
We can only hope that the other sister will have the lightbulb moment before she devotes her whole life to this despicable cult.
hi everyone.
as a parting gift to you all before i take a much needed break from this forum, i thought you would be pleased to know that the independent, a leading uk newspaper, will be publishing a piece on the "mentally diseased" watchtower article in tomorrow's edition.. i would like to thank everybody who has assisted the journalist, jerome taylor, in his investigation.. best wishes to all of you,.
cedars.
Looks like we will spread the good news to all the inhabited earth first then!
And we didnt knock 1 door!
Happy days!
even though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..
Very true exwhyzee......some part of me deep deep down hopes this isnt all there is, and maybe, somehow, I will see her...maybe. I still feel her, smell her sometimes, you know that feeling you get, when peace comes over you as the person pops into your mind? Its been happening a lot these past few days for me....smelling her baking, her perfume, lots of butterflies around (her thing). Yes, I know theres a logical explanation. But the yearning to hold her again, that will never go away.
Anyway, dont mean to derail the thread everybody...sorry.

hi, folks,.
i had a good laugh at broken promises' question back on the uniter - part 1 (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/216396/1/the-uniter-part-1-it-was-sent-with-my-declaration-of-war) where he asked where i live so that he'll know who it is when some crazy old man goes nuts and instigates a mass killing.
t'ain't gonna happen.. nonetheless, i guess i can understand where he's coming from.
Its tastes like chicken.......thats too cute!
I have my one and only grand-daughter aged 2 every saturday and sunday, weve been swimmming today. Like you, I have these amazing little moments with her that brighten my day like nothing else.
By the way, Hi, weve not spoken before, nice to know you (sort of).

even though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..
The sad part of this realisation, is that Im still coming to terms with the fact I will never see my darling mum ever again.
When she passed away, I guess I was in a bubble, kind of wandering around like nobody or nothing could touch me, because I was SURE Id see her again in Paradise.....................that bit really sucks. It still does actually.
following the recent breakthrough i have just sent the following email to sky news, expanding on the issue of the "mentally diseased" article to incorporate the issue of uk charitable status.
i feel this is a good angle to go at, because sky news tends to focus on uk economic policy issues quite extensively.
5 million per year in government gift aid being frittered away on a charity that condones breaking-up families and blocking medical treatment seems to me to be a newsworthy item.. here is the email.
I thought that very same thing Ceders, last week on Radio 2. At 12, Jeremy Vine does a 2 hr slot. Now most of it is very interesting, but the past few days were trivial and a bore (IMO).....suddenly, in the middle of my kitchen mid-washing up, my eyes glazed over as i played a story out regarding the "mentally diseased" slur...(in my head obviously)..I got all warm and snuggly , had a ridiculous half smile, ...my revire only to be broken when I realised Id been drying the same cup for over 10 mins.
Oh, just imagine Jeremy Vine getting hold of it, hes like a dog with an overbite with some subjects.......
Keep at em Ceders, youre doing a great job. x

dear friends:.
for years now after my exit from the wtbts i have searched for god.
as i have previously mentioned in other threads i looked into many other religions, including druidry, zen and tibetan buddhism (not really a religion), asatru, native american shamanism, kemetic orthodoxy, gnosticism and pandeism.
I dont think anyone of us "has it"...the answer.
As long as your life works for you, then thats the closest we come to being the best we can be. With or without God.
It doesnt make you better or worse than the next person.
Enjoy your life.
